Destination Campground Defined

We frequently tout our status as a “destination campground” but what does this really mean? With no Webster’s definition to be found, I offer you our opinion about how we feel here at Camp Coeur D’Alene.

For us, a destination campground offers some features that beg for an extended stay. With our ideal location just off of I-90 we certainly have travelers stopping in for a single night, however, the majority of our clientele revolve around family and friend fun in the sun.

We offer more than a few amenities that allow guests to stop in and stay awhile. One of the favorites is our heated, outdoor pool. After the late opening last season, while waiting for work to be done, we are looking forward to a full season of pool splashing fun for 2018.

Continuing with the water theme, our stunning location set along Wolf Lodge Bay is a huge bonus. With the Bay leading directly into Lake Coeur d’Alene, our complimentary pedal boats and canoe are a couple of our most popular features.

Everyone loves an evening spent around the campfire and we’re no different! Our free firewood is an extra we have seen nowhere else. Come on out for a visit and take advantage of the companionship and fun shared over smores.

Our newly remodeled camp store is sure to be one of the big hits of the season. Stocking the shelves will begin soon and we’ll offer a few items of this and that, hoping to cover anything you forget or run out of, along with a nice selection of beer and wine. If you have anything special you’d like to see please make sure to drop us a line.

Dog lovers rejoice at Camp CDA. We welcome all friendly dogs to come and stay with no pet fee, even in our cabins. A grassy off-leash run and great area hiking will keep your furry friends happy as well as yourself. For dog lovers arriving without their own pup, camp ambassador, Aspen is always available for some doggie cuddles.

We often hear that one reason guests choose to stay with us is because of our range of accommodation options. Whether you’re looking for a cozy cabin, an RV hook-up, or a tent site set on the lake, we can get you set up. This makes us perfect for family reunions or simply friends with varying tastes.

Families will appreciate the pool and water features but will also enjoy time in the play area and swing sets.

And let us not forget one of the best features of staying at Camp CDA; our location. Even while our forested setting is all about wildlife, hiking, and communing with nature it is good to keep in mind we are only seven miles from the dining, shopping and nightlife of Coeur d’Alene, 45 minutes to the theme parks at Silverwood, and easily accessible to nationally acclaimed hiking and biking trails and historical mining towns such as Kellogg.

Make sure to include a stay at Camp CDA in your plans this year and see for yourself what a true destination campground is all about.
