Fall has certainly arrived at camp and with it cold nighttime temperatures! Hearty stews and chilis are always a hit during this season and here at Camp CDA the idea of a warming dinner enjoyed around the campfire is why fall camping is our favorite time of year.

Once again we turn to our friends at Fresh off the Grid for their version of an amazing vegetarian chile cooked up in the dutch oven, one of our favorite cooking methods. They add the cornbread directly on top to cook over the chili and it is suddenly a one-dish wonder, one of our other favorite things!

The Joy of Fall Camping

Once again, our favorite time of year has arrived at Camp CDA! The days are sunny and comfortable and the nights crisp. The leaves are only just beginning to turn and the skies are clear and bright. Campfires burn brightly each evening, the delicious aroma wafting all over the camp.

Free Firewood Returns!

Fall camping is some of the best out there. Days are often sunny and bright, nights crisp and cool. This fun has been dampened a bit in recent weeks with the stage 2 fire ban in effect. No more. Free firewood once more reigns at Camp Coeur D’Alene!

Fall Camping at its Best

Fall is our favorite time of year here at Camp Coeur D’Alene! After a smoky couple of weeks the skies are clear and the air vibrant and fragrant with the hint of fall. The already stunning landscape becomes even more stunning with the addition of changing leaves against the beautiful blue sky.
